Important Announcements

  • Clean City Initiative - The Cleanest City in Indiana, a local group working to stop litter in Lebanon, is planning a new program to help eliminate trash in the city. The committee would like input on determining which areas in Lebanon have the most litter. The feedback will help the group prioritize clean up efforts. Visit http://svy.mk/1igdnHi by February 15, 2014 to complete the short survey and tell what areas of town need the most attention.
  • Boone County Community Clinic Open for Extended Hours - The clinic is now open for extended hours from 5pm until 8pm Monday thru Thursday, and from 8am until noon on Saturdays. These after-hours times are reserved for first-come, first-serve walk-in appointments, and are open to all Boone County residents, insured and uninsured alike. The Clinic is able to bill with several local insurances, and if you are uninsured, appointments start at only $50. No appointments necessary, but certain restrictions apply, as some services must take place at scheduled appointments during regular service hours. The clinic is located at 404 W. Camp St. in Lebanon (across the street from Walgreens).   • Watch Lebanon city meetings LIVE - The Lebanon Reporter announces that Lebanon city meetings may now be viewed online at The Reporter Network.   • Early Readers Club - United Way of Boone County has launched the Early Readers Club to promote childhood literacy. By registering today, your preschool child or grandchild can receive 12 high-quality books a year for just $20. Scholarships are available. Please go to www.uwci.org/erc to start your child on a lifelong journey of learning.
  • Shalom Free Lunch - Each Saturday for everyone from 11am-1pm at Shalom House (304 W. Green Street, Lebanon). All are welcome!

* Friday-Sunday, September 5-7, 2014 - Zionsville Lions Club Fall Festival at Lions Park in Zionsville. The fun begins on Friday night with the VIP Carnival for our special friends and their family and caregivers and the Poor Jack Carnival. The Lions Club Parade kicks of the festival on Saturday on Main Street. The festival is filled with local entertainment and performances, food, carnival rides, kids corner bounce houses and vendors that include arts & crafts, commercial, kids and pets. A panel of dementia experts will share information and answer questions in an open forum setting. This is a free event, but space is limited and registration is required. * Friday, September 12, 2014 - A "Grand" Night at the Hearth from 4-7 pm at The Hearth (11755 N. Michigan Road in Zionsville) sponsored by Boone County Senior Services, Inc. (BCSSI) and The Hearth at Tudor Gardens. The afternoon and early evening will be filled with fun activities including an art class, cookie decorating, music and dancing, story time, games, snacks, prizes and the Witham Health Services health and safety area. Admission is free for this special event, but all participating are asked to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to be donated to the local food pantry. * Saturday, September 13, 2014 – Zionsville Stream Walk and Cleanup (Z'SWAC) from 9:30 am – 12 pm at Elm Street Green in Zionsville. Volunteers will meet at Elm Street Green for the second stream cleanup. Last year volunteers removed over 2,600 pounds of trash from the local waterway. We need your help to continue to make a difference. After your hard work, enjoy a post-cleanup cookout courtesy of Akard True Value Hardware. Zion Nature Center and White River Alliance will be on hand for art and educational activities. Program is weather dependent. * Sunday, September 14, 2014 - The Purduettes perform a concert in Lebanon Memorial Park at 6 pm. The FREE concert is sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Lebanon. The church is having a hog roast cooked by Walter Burtner for a free will offering starting at 5:30 pm. Bring your blanket and a lawn chair!

* Saturday, September 27, 2014 - 2014 Boone County Senior Health & Wellness Expo at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds, Lebanon. The event is FREE for all attendees! Boone County seniors, their caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend. More than 50 vendors will be in attendance. Health screenings, flu shots, medicine cabinet cleanup, demonstrations, entertainment, door prizes, free soup and more will be offered. For free transportation contact 765-482-5220. * Saturday, September 27 & 28, 2014 - Lincoln's Lebanon and Civil War Re-enactment at Lebanon Memorial Park. A two day festival featuring a wide range of activities, dedicated to the spirit of the mid 1800s. Events include a visit from one of America's most beloved presidents portrayed by Randy Duncan, live Civil War battles and encampments, pioneer demonstrations, vendors, music, and much more!
