Zionsville Marlins Win 2006 Presidents Cup Tourney
The ZLL Major A baseball team, the Marlins, won the rain-delayed Presidents Cup tournament on Monday, June 12, 2006.

The final game was an extremely well played game. Neither team allowed a run for the first 4 innings. Zionsville finally got a runner on base and the next batter struck out to get two outs in the inning. Fall Creek's catcher attempted to end the inning with a strike 'em out, throw 'em out play. He threw behind the runner at first and the ball went into the outfield. The runner advanced to third on the error. During the next batter, a pitch got away from the catcher and the runner from Zionsville scored to go ahead 1-0. A final set of pitches got the strikeout for three outs but the damage was done.
Fall Creek came up to bat in the top of the 6th needing a run to tie and 2 to get ahead. The first runner got a great bunt hit and the hopes of the home Fall Creek team soared. A ground out got one but the runner at first advanced to 2nd. A strike out got the 2nd out. The runner got over to third on one pitch that got away. We again had a one-run game with the tying run at third. And again we didn't get any change in the results. Zionsville struck out the next batter ending the inning and giving the Zionsville Marlins the Major Boys Presidents Cup Championship.
Congratulations to the team!!!
