ZLL Parents:

Here are a few updates as our Zionsville Little League season heads into the final week:

1) All-Star teams soon will be selected. The ZLL Board of Directors has established a process to ensure that the selection of All-Stars is as open and as transparent as possible. Each team manager will nominate prospective all star players. All managers in each age division then vote on that list of nominees. There is NO SPECIAL CONSIDERATION given to whether or not a player's parent is a manager and/or member of the ZLL board. In addition, a player does NOT receive special consideration for playing on a Sunday Showcase team. The only consideration is each player's performance during the rec league season.

2) Speaking of the board, if you want to see ZLL continue to grow and succeed, please consider serving on the ZLL board of directors. The one-year term runs from October 1 - September 30. You are eligible to nominate yourself for any board seat, but if you would be more interested in pursuing a seat that definitely will not have a returning board member, that list currently includes: President, Field Maintenance, and Vice President - Softball. Other seats could open as September arrives, but again: you can nominate yourself for any seat on the board.  A listing of the board seats can be found at:  http://www.zionsvillell.org. If you're interested, please e-mail me at: bstan@iyi.org

3) Bill Estes Chevy raffle tickets remain available at the concession stand. Proceeds will go to the $17,000 repair bill ZLL and the Lion's Club have for fixing the electricity serving the field lights on diamonds 1, 2, 3 and 6. A local winner will receive a home entertainment system. All local entries go into a national drawing for a new car.

Best wishes for an enjoyable conclusion -- win or lose -- to the 2010 Zionsville Little League season!
