2002 All Star Selection Process
- ZLL will have Little League Tournament teams for SB 15-16, SB 13-14, SB 11-12, SB 9-10, BB 15-16, BB 13-14, BB 11-12, BB 9-10 (2 teams).
- Other age groups may have all stars to participate in other tournaments (i.e. BB 7, BB 8, BB 9, BB 11)
- During the few two weeks of June, Commissioners should notify all Managers that need to contact parents of players who have the ability to play all stars to determine their interest and availability. It will be up to each manager to determine which players have the ability. For 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 year old boys, a separate team should be nominated for both age groups.
- Commissioners should meet with their respective managers to select tournament teams. Janet King or Brad Fenton or their designee will participate in each of these meetings to insure ZLL consistency and fairness, and evaluations may be required for certain age groups to give all managers an opportunity to see all players
- Each manager should bring the players they believe have the ability and are available during the last week of June for practice and the first three weeks of July for games to the meeting.
- Each Manager should vote on 12 players.
- The 12 players with the highest vote total should be selected to the team.
- The tournament manager should be selected by majority vote by the other managers. The tournament manager must be approved by the President.
- The tournament manager will select his/her two coaches.
- The tournament manager may select 2-3 alternates for their team.
- Player and manager selections will be reported to the President, in writing, within 48 hours of the meeting.
- Official announcement of all star or tournament teams shall not be made until June 15th. Official all star or tournament team practices shall not begin before June 15, and must not interfere with regular season games.
