Annual Spring Luncheon and Jackson Township Historical Society (JTHS) Fundraiser

This year's JTHS luncheon theme will be Grandmother’s Heirloom Flowers with special guest speaker Master Gardener Cheryl Toney of Danville, IN.

When: Saturday, April 30, 2005 - doors will open at 11:00 am with lunch being served at 11:30 am

Where: at Cochran’s Banquet Hall located at 29 West Main Street in Jamestown.

Cost: Luncheon tickets are available for $15 each at banks in Jamestown, Lizton, North Salem and the Tri-Area Library in Jamestown.

Numerous door prizes will be awarded and all attendees will receive luncheon souvenirs. The JTHS Jamestown Press Museum, located next door to the luncheon, will be open for free public tours.

Various historical displays, artifacts, and the hot lead presses will be available for viewing.

For more information on this year's JTHS Spring Luncheon please call Lucia Smith at (765) 676-5340. Proceeds from the luncheon will assist the not-for-profit historical society continue its mission of collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the history of Jackson Township, in Boone County, Indiana.

The society is also committed to the renovation and operation of both the Jamestown Press Building Museum and former Advance Bank building. Jamestown, founded in 1830, was the first town in Boone County and the Boone county seat for two years.

This year, the citizens of Jamestown will be celebrating its 175th anniversary in June during the weekend of Friday, June 24th through Sunday, June 26th.
