College Bound Students and Young Adults
How Safe Are You?
A number of local agencies have linked together to sponsor an Awareness and Safety Strategy Program targeting college bound students and young adults. The class will be on Wednesday, August 4, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Civic Room at Memory Hall, Lebanon.
This program will inform students and young adults of potentially unsafe situations they may face and will provide them with strategies and defense mechanisms to assist in choosing a correct course of action to keep themselves safe.
Participants will learn in an interactive environment how to take action to protect themselves from sexual assault, the "date rape drug," sexually transmitted diseases, drugs and alcohol, and injury and theft. They will also have hands on self-defense training.
To register call the Witham Memorial Hospital's Marketing and PR department at 765-482-8600. First 25 to register and attend will receive a Witham Golf Shirt. Refreshments will be served and each participant will receive a "goody bag. The event is free of charge and is sponsored by Witham Memorial Hospital, Boone County Health Department, Boone County Step Ahead Council, Boone County Sheriffs Department, Mike Kincaid's Karate USA, and the Lebanon Educational Foundation.
