- Boone County Senior Health & Wellness Expo from 9am-1pm at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds, Lebanon. FREE for all attendees! Boone County seniors, their caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend. More than 50 vendors will be in attendance. Health screenings, flu shots, medicine cabinet cleanup, demonstrations, led testing, door prizes, food and more will be offered. - Annual Josiah's Ride: Cruzin' 4 a Cure Poker Run/Fun Day to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and a local child diagnosed with leukemia. This event is presented by the American Legion Riders Post #79. The event will be held at the Zionsville American Legion( 9950 E 600 S. Zionsville, IN 46077). Entry fee for the poker run includes breakfast, dinner, live band and raffles. Breakfast at 9am, registration starts at 9:30am, last bike out at 10:45am, last bike in at 5pm, dinner at 5pm, band plays from 6pm to 9pm. WMFS Friends & Neighbors van will be there from 9:30 am to 10:30am. Various vendors will be set up from 4-6pm including bounce house and other various kids activities. Cost: Pre- register online at www.alrpost79.com under the Cruzin' 4 a Cure tab by September 25: $20 Single - $35 Double. Pre-registrants also receive a ride pin and long sleeve t-shirt. - Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) celebrates 175 years of Ministry from 9 am - 1 pm at Central Christian Church (311 E. Main Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052 765-482-1888). Many special events are planned that day including the Reverend Nathan Brown (1998 LHS Grad!) as the featured speaker in the pulpit (10:30 a.m. worship) with a luncheon immediately following. Nathan and his wife Marion and son Harrison will be coming from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where Nathan is Senior Pastor of First Christian Church. Following his younger years here in Lebanon, Nathan graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.A. in Religion, and from Vanderbilt Divinity School with a Master of Divinity. The Lebanon community is welcome to celebrate with CCC and to support and get reacquainted with Nathan and his family.

- Moderated Film in 2 Parts United We Read: Three Sovereigns for Sarah from 6 – 8 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). Zionsville resident and United We Read committee member Carole Savitsky will moderate the film Three Sovereigns for Sarah. This dramatization of a true story deals with one of the most troubling episodes in early American history, the "witch hysteria" that convulsed the village of Salem, Massachusetts, in the 1690s. Three Sovereigns for Sara, an unrated made-for-TV movie, is the most accurate portrayal yet. Each character you will see actually existed and actually spoke many of the words you will hear as original transcripts of the trials were woven into the dialogue. Reservations appreciated. - Boone County Democratic Party Chili Supper from 6-8 pm at the Zionsville Christian Church at 9th and Oak. Chili, home-made desserts and hot dogs for the kids. There is no cost, but a free will offering is requested.
- Purdue Club of Boone County Fall Meeting at Stookey's Restaurant — featuring John Sautter. The first meeting of the club year will be at Stookey's in Thorntown, with social hour at 6 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm. The cost is $25 per person (excluding alcoholic beverages—tea or coffee is included): choice of catfish, ribeye steak or char-broiled chicken dinner. If you make a donation to the Purdue Club of Boone County Scholarship Fund, your meal will be FREE. The guest speaker for the evening will be John Sautter, Special Assistant to the Executive Director Purdue Alumni Association. John will speak on interesting and little known facts about Purdue's history: such as the president who never worked on campus because he couldn't get along with John Purdue, or, the residence hall table that Amelia Earhart always used. His presentation is VERY interesting— it will have you saying "I didn't know that" about your favorite university.
