- PAWS to Read from 4 - 5 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). A program that encourages reading for children 6 – 10. Participants may share a book with a furry, four-legged friend from TheraPets of Indiana on the first Tuesday of each month. The certified therapy dogs help create a safe environment for children as they read aloud and practice their reading skills. Space is limited and registration is required for each program. - Demonstration: Fan Fare from 11 am – 12:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). With the biggest football bash of the year approaching, adults may enjoy some tasty treats and help planning for that game day party. Based on the book Fan Fare: A Playbook of Great Recipes for Tailgaiting or Watching the Game at Home, this program will demonstrate the basics of party planning, delicious recipes and creative ideas for hosting a sports gathering. - Family Storytime
Curious George Paints the Library at 1 - 2 pm and 4:30 - 5:30 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). Families may enjoy stories and picture painting during this curious multi-generational event. Participants will be given the opportunity to create entries for the library’s Winter Reading Poster/Calendar Contest. - The Lebanon Reporter is hosting a Blue Friday Rally from 11 am to 1 pm in The Reporter parking lot. Pizza Hut of Lebanon will provide free pizza, and Lebanon City Council President Jeremy Lamar will be on hand to declare Friday Indianapolis Colts Day in Lebanon. The event will also feature giveaways, prizes and a passing contest to win a $100 Super Bowl Party from The Warehouse. Every one is welcome! The Lebanon Reporter website. Note: the rally will be moved inside the Reporter building off the alley if weather dictates.
- Lebanon High School Music Boosters Chili Supper from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the
LHS cafeteria. All proceeds to be earmarked for purchasing marching band uniforms.
Lebanon High School will take on Rossville in basketball that night. The Pixie Players will also perform at half time. The menu consists of a bowl of chili, a hotdog, dessert and a drink. Advance sale tickets are $5. Payment at the door will be $6. Tickets may be purchased from band parents at the following LHS Tiger home basketball games: January 30, and February 3. - Volunteer Tutoring Training for Kids at the Table (KAT) from 10 am to noon at Farmer's Bank, 2304 State Road 39, Lebanon, IN. The KAT program is an on-site feeding and tutoring program for school aged children sponsored by The Caring Center and the Lebanon Area Boys & Girls Club that will start in March. It will be hosted by the Lebanon Boys & Girls Club and will provide tutoring and a meal for self-qualifying students after school Monday through Friday during the school year. Performer and historian Glory-June Greiff presents poetry exploring the many aspects of love and romance just in time for Valentine's Day. Participants will learn how poets from Shakespeare to Erica Jong have delved into the subject of love through the ages. - Humane Society For Boone County Volunteer Orientation & Training at 6:30pm on the 3rd floor of the Lebanon Public Library. The Humane Society for Boone County will be hosting an orientation/training session for current and potential volunteers. Come see what we're all about and learn how you can get involved.
Members from the board of directors will be on hand to discuss: expectations of volunteers, areas where you can help, current status of the organization.

New rules are in place for the Roth IRA in 2010 so adults are invited to hear industry experts discuss how individual investments may be affected. - Free Valentine’s Dinner and a Movie at the Lebanon Public Library (104 E. Washington St. Lebanon, IN 46052). Dinner begins at 6:30 and the movie will start at 7 pm. We will be showing The Time Traveler’s Wife. This event is for couples only, and you must be at least 18 to attend. Space is limited so registration is required.

The fair is presented by the Boone County Learning Network and the Boone County Economic Development Council. - McTeacher's Night at McDonald's in Lebanon (1514 W South Street) from 5-8 pm sponsored by the Perry-Worth Elementary School PTO. McDonald s will donate a portion of the dining room sales made during the event to the Perry-Worth PTO. The class who has the most student attendees will win Happy Meal lunches for the entire class, courtesy of McDonald s. Perry-Worth teachers will act as greeters during the event, and PTO volunteers will be on dining-room cleanup duty. Prizes will be raffled off between 7:30 and 8 pm.
- Civil War Round Table - Author Talk and Book Signing at 6:30 pm in the Ralph Stark Heritage Center at the Lebanon Public Library (104 E. Washington St. Lebanon, IN 46052). Speaking to the group will be award-winning storyteller and Indiana Author, Mary Blair Immel. She will discuss her book Captured! A Boy Trapped in the Civil War. The silent auction begins at 6 pm, and dinner with presentations begins at 8 pm. Enjoy live music during the silent auction and the first part of dinner. Auction items always include handicrafts from around the world, especially items from Nepal, and items from local artists and businesses. Tickets are $40/person. Children are welcome and eat for free for each ticket purchased for an adult. Seating is limited and prepayment is requested. Tickets may be purchased and donations are accepted via paypal through YETI's donation page. We expect that at least half of the ticket price will be tax deductible. Tickets may also be purchased by check or cash, with payment made out to YETI, and sent to YETI, 6651 S. 650 E., Zionsville, IN 46077.

- Artists' Reception for Poster/Calendar Contest from 3 – 4 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 N. Fifth St., Zionsville). Families may join in the celebration as we honor the artists who participated in the library’s inaugural 2010-2011 Poster/Calendar Contest. The top 18 posters, across all age groups, will be announced. These works will be featured in a new 2010/2011 Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library Calendar.
