- It's a Mystery Book Club at 7 pm in the Hussey Room at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). In August, join us in reading "Track of the Cat", the first in Nevada Barr's NYT bestselling Anna Pigeon series. In Barr's own words, "This is the book that gave Anna Pigeon life. Guadalupe Mountains was my second duty station with NPS (the National Park Service). There were a couple of folks in Texas who really needed to be dead. I spent a lot of time wandering the back country wondering how I could kill them and get away with it. - End of Summer Carnival for Families from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). Bring the family and help celebrate the end of Summer Reading and the Library's 49th birthday! There will be carnival games and prizes, face painting, a bounce house, a Zionsville fire truck, and a petting zoo. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase from the Friends of the Library. - Swimming & a Movie (Movie: Jaws) at Lebanon Memorial Pool - swimming from 7-9 pm, and movie begins at dusk. The Lebanon Parks Department and Lebanon Public Library are partnering to do swimming and a movie at The Lebanon Memorial Park Pool. Bring your swimsuit, a lawn chair or blanket, dry clothes, and some snacks! Cost is $1/person. In case of inclement weather the event may be cancelled or rescheduled. - BackPack Attack for Boone County - from 9 am - 12 pm at the Lebanon Area Boys & Girls Club (403 West Main Street, Lebanon, IN). Free backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed. Food, fun and activities! Sponsored by Lebanon Kiwanis, Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club, United Way of Central Indiana, The Caring Center and Boone County Chamber of Commerce.
- Sherlock Holmes Film Festival from 12 - 5 pm in the Lora Hussey Room at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). Join the Illustrious Clients of Indianapolis for an afternoon of Sherlock Holmes film showings. Stay for one film or stay for them all. Popcorn, candy and drinks provided. - Art in the Park, A Back-to-School Celebration! from 4-8 pm at the Joe Haboush Bandstand in Lebanon Memorial Park. The celebration is sponsored by the Lebanon Community Arts Council of Indiana. This event is dedicated to our finest young and curious minds in our community. Kids will enjoy interactive booths with local artists and musicians in painting, photography, instrument petting zoos and more! Music, food, and fun is a must! Free hot dogs and chips will be provided. Drinks are $1. A free drawing will be available for a new backpack filled with the essential back-to-school supplies! - American Hippotherapy Association Level I Equine Skills & Treatment Principles Course hosted by Morning Dove Therapeutic Riding Center (7444 West 96th Street Zionsville, IN 46077). This hands-on course targets therapists with minimal to no horse experience in non-mounted equine skills. Participants will work with horses in teams of two to four, with a faculty/student ratio of 1:6, allowing an opportunity for demonstation, practice and individualized feedback and instruction. - Civil War Roundtable: Ray Mahoy, U.S. Army, Retired, will present "Armored Cavalry in the Vietnam War" at 6:30 pm in the top floor meeting room of the Lebanon Public Library (104 E. Washington St. Lebanon, IN 46052). The Purple Heart and two Silver Star awards for gallantry in action on the Republic of Vietnam were awarded to Army 1st Lt. Raymond H. Mahoy in 1968. Mahoy served two tours in Vietnam and later was re-commissioned in the rank of Captain and retired in 1988 with twenty-six years of service. The Roundtable is a free program for adults and students. The public is welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the third Monday evening of each month.

- Outdoor Movie @ Abner Longley Park at dusk at Abner Longley Park in Lebanon. We will be showing the movie Tangled. This movie is sponsored by the Tri Kappa Sorority of Lebanon. Bring a chair, blanket, and some snacks and come watch a great Disney film. If there is a weather cancellation there will be signs out at Abner Longley Park, and it will be posted on the library website and Facebook page. - Auditions for the Lebanon Follies Company "Follies Fractured Fairy Tales" from 10 am to 4 pm at the Milk Building (904 E. Walnut St., Lebanon). The audition will include singing (sheet music preferred), dancing andÊscript reading.Êshould come prepared to sing, with sheet music preferred. The audition process is only one day this year. Rehearsals will be on Sundays starting September 11, with weeknight rehearsals the week of the show. In addition to adult and children roles, the show will also feature group and cast ensemble selections. "Follies Fractured Fairy Tales" is an offbeat look at some favorite tales set to song and dance. Show dates will be Friday to Sunday, November 18 to 20, 2011, at the Lebanon High School auditorium.

- Zionsville Homeschoolers Meet and Greet Night from 7 – 8 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library (250 North 5th Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077). New to homeschooling in Zionsville? An old pro who is new to the area or wants to be more connected? Somewhere in between? Parents of Zionsville homeschoolers (ages 3 – 12) are invited to attend a program to learn about library technology resources and meet other Zionsville home educators. Plus, a Monarch Butterfly Program will be offered for Zionsville homeschooled children while parents attend the meeting. - Annual Helping Her Heal Charity Polo Match at Hickory Hall Polo Club. Gates open at 11 am, match begins at 1 pm. General admission is $20/carload (pay at the gate); set up your own picnic with your family—coolers and picnic lunches are welcome! Proceeds benefit a community compassionately providing emotional and financial support to women with female cancers.
- Off-Main Street Players Trivia Night hosted by Ray Cortopassi from 7-11pm at Eagle Creek Coffee Company (10 West Main Stree,t Zionsville, IN 46077). Cost: $100 per team; maximum of four members per team. All players must be 21 to participate. Join the Off-Main Street Players for a variety of snacks and beverages while you and your teammates compete to win cash and prizes at the first-annual Trivia Night - benefiting Off-Main Street Players. To win, teams (maximum of four players per team) will answer 10 general interest questions in each of 10 rounds of questions. The top five teams will compete in a final round featuring one question from each of the 10 question categories. The first place team will win $200 and the second place team will win $100.
