- United Way's Boone County Celebration from 7:45 to 9:15 am at Lebanon High School (1810 N Grant St Lebanon, IN 46052). Celebrate Boone County's successful 2012 campaign. Thanks to your support, we can keep the community on track to help people learn more, earn more and lead safe and healthy lives. Hunter Smith, Super Bowl champion punter from the Indianapolis Colts, musician and author will be a keynote speaker. - Swingin' the Square! from 7 - 10 pm in the Boone County Courthouse Rotunda. Enjoy an evening of live music and swing dancing featuring the Lebanon High School Jazz Band, the Sugar Creek Big Band, and free group swing dance instruction by Arthur Murray Dance Center of Zionsville! Hosted in the beautiful Boone County Courthouse, this event is admission free and open to all. Contributions to the Lebanon Community Arts Council will be welcomed, benefiting this year's Red, White, and Blues Festival (Friday, June 14th on the square). Food will be available for purchase from Arni's Restaurant, and the arts council will be offering free giveaways. - Feeding Our Future's Second Annual "Be a Hero, Fight Childhood Hunger" Day at the Witham Health Services Pavilion, Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds. The day will begin at 10am with a poverty simulation presentation that will be repeated again at 2pm. From 3:30 to 6:30, some of our leading restaurants and cooks will provide "A Taste of Boone County" food fair. At 4pm, the evening event will begin with the keynote speaker, Julia Moffitt, of Channel 13 WTHR. She will be followed by several engaging speakers and workshops to provide you with the resources needed to make a difference in our community and heighten our awareness of the scope of childhood hunger in Boone County. This is an informative event with any donations collected going directly to feeding needy children in Boone County. Our ultimate goal remains to completely eliminate childhood hunger in Boone County by 2020, "Zero by 2020." We hope you will be able to join us and we encourage you to invite any friends or others who might also like to join this fight. Master Food Preserver and Indy Food Swappers founder Suzanne Krowiak teaches the basics of water bath canning, the simplest and most common canning method, in this introductory class for adults.
