Minutes of the Lebanon Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting
July 31, 2000
Board President Jane Myers called the meeting to order at 4:40 p. m. all members were present except Ron Morelock who arrived late. Kay Martin, Director of the Library and Todd Meyer, the Libraryís Legal council were also present.
On July 12 condemnation proceedings were filed in Steve Davidís court. Jeff Edens has been hired to represent Don and Margaret Brandenburg. Mr. Edens is asking for an extension to August 28 to prepare objections.
Questions and concerns were discussed about the Century 21 contract. The Library Board was never aware of any contract, written or verbal with Century 21. Century 21 says they have 45 to 50 hours invested in the Lawler Building project. The Board has received an "itemized" statement for $6,650. The Library Board wishes to make sure that paying this amount is fair use of the taxpayer money.
According to Randy with JMI, a burn and scorch pattern was found when he went to repair the air conditioner, this pattern could only be a result of a lightening strike. The insurance company has the monetary proposal and Randyís written report. The cost of repairs will be covered by our insurance. The repairs should be finished by August 3. The Library will be closed for painting August 3-5.
Huck Lewis made the motion to advertise for 2001 budget. Linda Jones made the second.
Todd Meyer is writing a letter of our concerns to Jerry Alexander and MIBOR about the $6,650 that Alexander is requesting.
The next Board meeting is scheduled for Monday August 28, 2000 at 4:30 p. m.
