Minutes Of The Lebanon Public Library Board Of Trustees
April 23, 2002
Jane Myers called the meeting to order. Linda Jones, Ruth Lucas, Sharon Wood, Marsha Truitt, and Library Director Kay Martin were present. Ron Morelock and Huck Lewis arrived late. Todd Meyers, the Library’s attorney was present. Laura Goodenow represented the Lebanon Reporter. Randy Ellis attended.
New employees Susan Bahr, Sandy Robinson, Penny Marsh, and Hannah Myers introduced themselves, gave some background information and told what they do at the Library.
The Secretary’s reports from February 27 and March 27 were shared. Ruth made the motion to approve the February and March minutes, and Linda gave the second.
Ruth shared the Treasurer’s report for the 2003 Capital Projects. Marsha made the motion and Sharon gave the second to approve the 2003 Capital Projects.
The Improvements and Capital Projects Committee, consisting of Jane, Marsha, Huck, Ruth, Chrissy, Glenna, Fern and Kay will meet May 9 at 4:00 p.m.
Department Reports were shared. Kay said the Library would be represented three ways in the Fourth of July Parade: 1. A decorated cart for “United We Read”, 2. The “Book Cart Brigade”, 3. The regular float.
Kay has received the “Distinguished Alumna Award” for Ivy Tech. She will receive her honor and address graduates at the May 3 graduation ceremony. Baker and Taylor have asked Kay to serve on their advisory committee for children’s books. She will have two days of focus group work in New Jersey and one day in New York.
After a discussion with the staff, Kay said the Library will take out a Movie License.
Marsha made the motion that we pay the claims. Ron Morelock gave the second.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, May 22, 2002.
