Minutes of the Lebanon Public Library Board of Trustees
June 22, 2005
Board President Jane Myers called the meeting to order. Members attending were, David Koehler, Sharon Wood, and Marsha Truitt. Members unable to attend were Linda Jones, Jon Nixon, and Kandi Caldwell. Donna Boone sat in for Kay Martin, Director. Also attending were Tony Robbins, Glenna Lenox, Doug Wilhoite, and David Truitt.
Under correspondence, a note from Senator Richard Lugar was shared.
The Secretary’s report from May was shared. David Koehler made the motion and Sharon Wood gave the second to approve the minutes.
Under Treasurer’s Report, the Capital Projects Plan submitted to the Township Advisory Board was rejected for the second time. The first rate requested was .0133, second rate requested was .0062, and the Township Advisory Board ask for a higher rate to be resubmitted a third time at the higher rate of.0086. David Koehler made the motion and Marsha Truitt gave the second for the Resolution to Township Trustees to resubmit the Capital Projects fund at .0086 rate. Tony Robbins, Glenna Lenox, and David Koehler explained the need and answered questions about establishing a Levy Excess from Lease Rental for a total of $90,673. David Koehler made the motion and Marsha Truitt gave the second to approve the Resolution to establish a Levy Excess Fund.
Sharon Wood made the motion and David Koehler gave the second to pay the claims.
Under Building Update, Dan Sulkoske (Kramer, INC) told us that SBC waived their bill for relocation of lines. That was a savings of $98,000.
Donna Boone reported that people were waiting outside the doors before the Library opened for the 100-Year Birthday Celebration. Jane and Sig Myers are donating a portable PA system to the Library.
Donna discussed the Giving Tree Guidelines and how the money will be used.
The Internet Policy will be discussed at the August meeting.
Donna also discussed on-line classes linked through IUPUI. $20,000 is available through the state for someone to coordinate the program through the server.
Marsha Truitt made the motion and David Koehler gave the second for Glenna to pay the bills and claims for July. There will be no July Library Board meeting.
Marsha is to call Renee Stanley to set up dates for pictures of the Library Staff and Library Board.
The next scheduled meeting will be Wednesday, August 24, 2004 at 4:30 p.m.
