* Now through Tuesday, July 12, 2016 - Collection drive for Boone County Backpack Attack - view Boone County Backpack Attack flyer (PDF) for information and needed supplies. Drop off locations are Akards True Value – Zionsville, The Arc of Greater Boone County, Boone County Libraries, Boys & Girls Club - Lebanon, Boys & Girls Club - Zionsville, Lebanon Walmart, State Bank of Lizton – all locations, Zionsville Marsh, Participating banks, stores and churches. Cash donations are also accepted. Checks should be made payable to United Way of Central Indiana with Boone Backpack Attack written in the memo line, and mailed to United Way of Central Indiana – 221 N. Lebanon St. Lebanon, IN 46052. All donations of school supplies and funds will be used in Boone County for Boone County students.

* Thursday, August 4, 2016 - Boone County Substance Abuse Symposium sponsored by the The Boone County Substance Abuse Task Force from 9 am-3 pm at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds Pavilion Meeting Rooms (1300 CR 100 South Lebanon, IN 46052). Come join us as we acknowledge the wicked problem of substance abuse in our community and work together to link, leverage and align our efforts to counter substance abuse in Boone County. Benefitting projects including the ZVFD Larry K. Rust Memorial Scholarship Fund, Hoosier Burn Camp & ZVFD Bereavement Fund. Breakfast: 8:30am - 10am featuring Patricks; Registration 8:30am; Siren Start 10am; Lunch and Awards Afterwards. * Saturday, September 17, 2016 - Whitestown Brew Fest from 2-5 pm (VIP entry from 1-2 pm) at the Whitestown Muncipal Complex (6210 S. County Road East, Whitestown). VIP Tickets will be available for $55, with General Admission tickets costing $35. Designated Drivers will be admitted FREE upon ID check courtesy of State Farm Insurance. * Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25, 2016 - Lincoln's Lebanon and Civil War Re-Enactment sponsored by the Boone County Historical Society from 8 am to 4 pm at Lebanon Memorial Park. Family-Friendly and Admission Free! Enjoy live public addresses by President Lincoln as portrayed by Randy Duncan. The event is a two day festival featuring a wide range of activities, dedicated to the spirit of the mid 1800s. Events include a visit from one of America's most beloved presidents, live Civil War battles and encampments, pioneer demonstrations, vendors, music, and much more!

* Saturday, September 24, 2016 - Boone County Senior Health and Wellness Expo from 9 am to noon at the Boone County Fairgrounds. FREE for all attendees. The focus of the event will be to provide knowledge of health care and quality of life for current and future older adults, as well as their adult children, family members and other supporters or caregivers. Attendees will have the opportunity to particpate in the flu shot clinic and health screenings, visit more than 50 vendors, enjoy a variety of entertainment on the Expo stage, participate in the Passport to Health program and enjoy the hospitality area.
