- Paws to Read from 4-5 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. A monthly program for children 6-10 that encourages reading. Participants may read to a furry, four-legged friend from TheraPets of Indiana on the first Tuesday of each month. The certified therapy dogs help create a safe environment for children as they read aloud and practice their reading skills. Space is limited and registration is required for each program. - The Music Group Presents from 7-8:30 pm in the Lora Hussey Room at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. "Only the Good Die Young" will be the theme for this first music appreciation event. Participants will explore classical and jazz music created by young, talented composers who died at a young age. These informal, conversational sessions will continue on the first Tuesday of each month and will focus on music rarely heard on the radio or performed by orchestras. - Tea Education 101 from 6:30-8:30 pm in the Lora Hussey Room at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. Donna Yarema, owner of TeaPots n Treasures, presents an introductory class on the art of tea. Yarema will provide a variety of hand-packed, hand-blended gourmet teas for participants to sample. Teapots and supplies will be available for purchase following the program. Making waves, bouncing balls in the air and getting caught under the chute are for the young at heart. Children 3-12 may enjoy this standard from gym class and get a little exercise too. - Casual Open House for Arlene Samuelson from 2-4 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Centenary United Methodist Church (910 Fordice Road, Lebanon) honoring her for her service to the women in need at the Boone County Jail. Arlene began her own ministry for women at the local jail, and then, in 1999, became a member of the Boone County Jail Ministry Task Force. In August of 2004, she was sworn in as a BC Jail Chaplain wherein she has served with law enforcement, the incarcerated, and the public. She has been an active member in First Community Church and has served on a variety of committees in our communityalways in service to others. Arlene and husband, Jerry, will be moving to Auburn, Indiana to live closer to their two sons, Chris and Jay, and their families. Hosting the open house is the joint effort of: Boone County Jail Ministry Task Force, Boone County Jail Chaplains, and First Community Church.

Don't miss the hilarious antics of Buster Keaton in this silent 1927 film set during the Civil War. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by Roger Lippincott. - Batter Up! from 4-5 pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library. Author Sue Corbett will discuss her book Free Baseball with students in grades 3-5. Baseball card collectors and Rowdie, the Indianapolis Indians mascot, will also be on hand to get participants ready for baseball season. Space is limited. - Celtic Concert Pops with Classical, Jazz, and Folk Music at 7 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church (1525 Mulberry Street, Zionsville, IN). Playing on folk harps he has built himself, Tom Duncan will regale his audience with sounds of Scotland, Ireland, and England, as well as his own compositions. The program will span styles from folk, jazz, pop, classical and Indian influences. Duncan's performance will also include guitar, piano, and ukelele. The concert is free and open to the public, with cheerful acceptance of free will donations. A reception will follow the concert.
